I had heard of Mick Flannery from a colleague and from Eilish. It sounded like he was a very talented musician. Eilish said that he had written a musical and that it was going to be performed at The Everyman as part of The Cork Midsummer Festival. We were lucky enough to get tickets to the Thursday preview night of it.
I figured that I should probably do a little bit of research on Mick Flannery by listening to his music. I noticed he had a song called Boston so I immediately liked him. I listened to that song as well as watched a cool music video where he was in a well lit glass box on the streets of Dublin. His sound reminded me of Bruce Springsteen.
