Between the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016 I’m sure I’m not the only one whose curiosity in Brazilian culture has been sparked for quite some time. It comes across as vibrant, colourful, and passionate.
Brazil has been influenced by many other countries. Its time as a colony of Portugal is the most obvious but there are also the less obvious influences from Italy, Spain, China, Japan and the Middle East. With such a variety it goes without saying that Brazilian food would be a unique experience.
The population of Brazilians in Ireland has increased in recent years so I thought there might be a few restaurants around with Brazilian food. Mercadinho on Barrack Street was one that came up and stood out so I said yes to it….
